Wednesday, August 12/Appreciate Your Fellowlabourers

Philippians 4:3

Working together is a lost discipline. It seems more and more difficult to get people to labor with others to get a job done. The Apostle Paul was urging (intreating) the Christians to work together, remembering how they had accomplished much in the past. Apparently there was a rift between Euodias and Syntyche (Phil. 4:2). Instead of laboring together, they were drifting apart and the work of the gospel was not getting done!

Our natures are to take things for granted, not appreciating the routine and regular tasks that others do both for us, and for the cause of Christ. We like to discount the efforts of others while exalting the small, token actions that we do ourselves. We need to purpose in our hearts ways that we can help those laboring in the gospel. Remember this: if your name is written in the book of life, we are all then on the same team. We are “labourers together with God” (1 Cor. 3:9) as we work to get the Word of God out to a lost and needy world.

Thank God this morning for the other Christians whom God has given you to work with as you serve Him. Ask God to give you a thankful heart concerning the efforts put forth by others and for Him to remind you to thank those who are faithfully serving around you.
