" Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry for anger resteth in the bosom of fools" Ecclesiastes 7:9
Many of you are familiar with the words of the hymn "My faith has found a resting place". Has anger found a resting place also? Is there a grudge or resentment that you are holding on to?
Our text tells us that fools let anger rest in their hearts, and that we should not be so quick to get angry. A good question to ask ourselves in the heat of anger is,"What is this anger motivating me to do?" Anger is in itself not a sin. It is the actions that stem from the anger that cause it to either be sinful or not. To be honest, I don't like confrontation. But I have found that it is far better to confront than to hold anger in my heart. All sin must be dealt with biblically, and it is not biblical to hold grudges.
