1/1 Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

We say it so often at this time of the year, but do we really expect things to get better? As the end approaches, we are as a woman in travail, the “pains” of life get more intense, and last longer; we see a picture of society in the last days. I sincerely hope this will be a happy year for all of us, but with foreboding I say it, and with anticipation I await the Lord’s return. I hope it is this year!

A new year brings new challenges; it brings new heartaches, as well as new joys, and none can really be anticipated with any amount of accuracy. Optimistically speaking, I will be a good year for the economy, it seems that it has to get better, but other things will rise up to challenge our intellect as well as our patience. You can count on that. Let us, nevertheless, begin the year on a happy note, and look for the return of the Lord, and meet the challenges of each day with that anticipation, and with a new, fresh grace; remember, His mercies are new every morning “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22,23). This year we will receive many new mercies, and that is something to be happy about.
