2/7 Strength for Today

2 Kings 10:15
“And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.”

Every generation must redefine their stand. Jehu was anointed by God to be the one who destroyed the house of Ahab and redefine the stand for truth. While doing what God commanded Jehu to do, he met Jehonadab and asked him the question, “...Is thine heart right, as my heart is with my heart?” Jehu felt that Jehonadab had a kindred spirit to fight for right, but to test whether that feeling was right he asked Jehonadab to get in the chariot with him as he pursued the battle for right.

I find in our present day that we have many good people who do not want to jump into the chariot and fight for right. Every generation has its battles, and yet the present generation of Christians seems to not have the stomach to fight. Most of them are standing by the sidelines watching the Jehu's of our day fight, when they should be in the chariot fighting for truth themselves.

One thing you must be very careful about is yoking up with someone who is does not have the same zeal to defend truth. Jehu knew that the ones he should yoke up with were the ones who would ride in his chariot and fight the battles with him. When you are fighting for truth, don't look for people to fight with you before you get in the battle, fight the battle, and you will find those whose hearts are right with yours fighting for truth beside you. You should yoke up with those who are willing to stick their neck out for truth.

On the other hand, to those who just don't want to involve themselves in the battle for truth, you must realize your lack of action hurts your generation. I find today in Christianity a generation who doesn't want to offend anyone. Let me make this clear, when you stand and fight for truth you are going to offend people. Truth is offensive to those who oppose it. Standing on the sidelines only contributes to the side of those who oppose truth.

I say to those who don't want to fight for truth, jump into the chariot with us and help us fight for truth. Stop standing on the sidelines of the battle for the inspiration and preservation of the King James Bible, jump into the chariot and fight to defend truth. Stop standing on the sidelines in the battle for separation, standards and doctrine, and jump into the chariot. Let those who fight for truth know your heart is right with theirs by your involvement in the battle. As long as you stand on the sidelines trying to avoid the battle, you create doubt in your followers and in the hearts of those who are fighting for truth.

Silence and lack of action are not what wins battles. If people like you jump into the chariot and fight for truth, that will help to win the battle. Truth must be defended! Will you jump in?
