4/6 Devotion with God’s Word

Our Duty Series

Keeping the Peace

In this section we are going to focus on verses 14 and 15. In these two verses we are commanded to do some things:

Warn them that are unruly

§ In love we need to warn those that are doing what they are suppose to be doing in their Christian walk. (Ephesians 2.10) God has a plan for us, but He want willing servants ~ He will convict, but He will never force.

§ Warn means “to caution or reprove gently:--admonish”

§ Unruly means “insubordinate (religiously)”

Comfort the feeble minded

§ Encourage those that of little faith or those that lack confidence in themselves to do the work of the Lord.

Support the weak

§ Help to hold up the impotent, sick, without strength, weak.

§ This could be a spiritual support of someone that a may be wounded or one that of a physical support. (Being there for someone that may be struggling)

Be patient toward all men

§ This is to endure toward all men

Render not evil for evil

§ We are not to get even. Things that happen are not our ticket to get back at someone.

Follow that which is good

§ The only good thing that we have is our Lord. Not thing else matters.

**Take some time in these sections and look up some verses that will help you to understand what it is that God would like for you to do. I purposely left out many verses in hopes that the reader will take time to find them.
