Message Title: The Mind of Christ
Date: Friday January 27, 2012Today's Chapters: Exodus 38-40Preview of Today's Message: The true Christian not only develops a mind like Christ, they also develop the likeness of Him. All Scripture quoted from the King James Version.

Hello My Friend,

God is not a respecter of persons, if you have willingly accepted and received Christ as your Savior then you are one of His children, you have been adopted into the family. However, just like every other godly family there are those who obey and listen to their parents and there are those who rebel against their parents. Yet among those who obey and listen only a minority will grow into the likeness of their parents, but those who do will be blessed more than all of them. The Christian who grows with Christ develops a mind like Christ through the Holy Spirit, which then turns them into the likeness of Christ as they serve God, and the more they serve God with a willing heart the more they are blessed.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God...For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” -1 Corinthians 2:9-12,16.

God instructed Moses on how He wanted the tabernacle to be built, people willingly gave items, Bezaleel and Aholiab willingly constructed the pieces, and they did the labor necessary to complete the tabernacle exactly to God's specifications. “
And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the LORD commanded Moses. And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.” -Exodus 38:22,23.

The workmen took great care to make everything according to God’s instructions, God delights in sincere obedience and keeps an exact account of it too. While our works do not save us they do count as rewards after we are saved in heaven. Jesus will judge every person and reward them according to their works, good or bad. “
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” -Matthew 16:27,28.

Now, came the time for the ephods to be built, the garments that the priests would wear when doing service for God.
And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses. And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work...The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.” - Exodus 39:1-3,41.

Before the priests were even able to minister to people they had to be cleansed and apply these garments on them. Those that wear robes of honor must look upon them as clothes of service, for those whom such a honor is given, from them service is expected. Holy garments were not made for men to sleep in, but to do service in, and then they are indeed for glory and beauty. These garments foreshadowed Christ, who gives us a robe of righteousness when we receive Him as our Savior. “
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” - Isaiah 61:10.
The first day of the month was here and Moses set up the tabernacle just as God commanded, shortly after God moved in His dwelling place. “And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up...Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.” - Exodus 40:17,34-38.
The cloud covered the tabernacle even in the clearest day, it was not a cloud which the sun scatters. This cloud was a token of God's presence to be seen day and night, by all Israel, that they might never again question whether God was with them or not. It guided the camp of Israel through the wilderness. The glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. When the cloud rested on the tabernacle, they rested, when it moved, they followed it. What the glory cloud was to the tabernacle, the Holy Spirit is to every person who receives the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are...And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.” - I Corinthians 3:16,17,23.

If we want a mind of Christ, if we want to think like Him, be like Him, we must know everything about Him, study Him, hang out with Him. We are an image of who we get around, regardless of how old we are, when we hang out with someone long enough we start to act like them. What better person to mimic than Jesus. “
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:..For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” - Romans 6:5-8,17,23.
Today's Psalm: 17:15 - “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
Today's Proverb: 9:9 - ”Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”
Today's Prayer: God, we confess that in the process of being molded and fashioned into Your likeness we are often unyielding and struggle in the process of becoming more like Your Son. Thank You for placing people in our lives who model godly character and who courageously speak words of direction and loving correction when we most need it. At various times You place people in our lives that stretch and challenge us, which produces a mind like Christ. Lord, help me to graciously read and study Your Word to know more about Your Son, help me to follow Him and grow closer to Him each day. Help me to be the person You want me to be. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night. God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
