Message Title: This Is Your Life
Date: Monday February 20, 2012Today's Chapters: Deuteronomy 1-2

Hello My Friend,

There will come a day when we will all stand before Jesus for judgment, I always picture a projector with, “This is your life.” playing on a big screen as Jesus shows us our lives from birth, what good we have done, sin we committed, opportunities we missed. The truth is, some of these things will come into play to some extent, a person that is saved will not have to have a replay of the sins in their lives, before or after they were saved. Why? We are saved through Christ who cleanses us from all unrighteousness. “
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Those who never got saved will see their lives pass before their eyes, all the sin, all the missed opportunities to have gotten saved will play right before their eyes. “
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” -John 5:26-30.
The Book of Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Old Testament/Bible and contains thirty-four chapters. The author of the book is Moses and it was written to the Jews, the timeline is approximately 1451BC. The purpose of the book was to restate the law to the new generation of the children of Israel that was given forty years ago on Mt. Sinai to their parents. What we are to learn from the book is that obedience to God always brings His blessings, but disobedience always brings judgment. “For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.” - Deuteronomy 10:17,18.

Forty years have passed since the Jews had the opportunity to cross over the Jordan into the promised land, just like God said, one year for each day that the twelve spies got a taste of the promised land. Now, all those who caused strife and tempted God along the way were gone, Moses talks to the new generation and reminds them of why they had to wait so long to cross over the Jordan in the first place.

The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates. Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them...Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged...Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God,..And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers...Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.” - Deuteronomy 1:6-8,21,32,34,35,39.

Because of their unbelief, all but two people, Caleb and Joshua, from the first generation to be freed from Egypt were able to enter the promised land, even Moses forfeited his right to enter because of his unbelief. This is a reminder that only those who believe in and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior will be able to enter the land promised to all who receive Him, which is the Kingdom of God. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - 1 John 5:13.

While God does promise to give eternal life and the Kingdom to all who receive His Son, that does not mean that we will not face any giants along the way. Moses warned the Jews about the giants that they would face as they entered the promised land, but assured them that God would always be with them and enable them to defeat every giant that got in front of them as long as they heeded the warnings and followed the instructions He would give them.

And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession. Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink. For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing...From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us: Only unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the LORD our God forbad us.” - Deuteronomy 2:4-7,26,27.

We really have no idea how much power God has, even nations that do not call Him God are subject to His commands. No one, not even Satan himself can do something without God's approval, He is in control of everything. You tell me how a Christian can survive in the mess that America is becoming without God? No matter how bad it gets, God always provides for and takes care of us. The more America refuses to help Israel the more this country is going to suffer or any other country for that matter. “But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven...But there shall not an hair of your head perish.” - Luke 21:9-11,18.

We are going to suffer from time to time, we are going to be chastised too if we choose the sinful way instead of the right way, but the more we do for God the more God will do for us not only here on earth, but in His Kingdom too. Jesus is coming, what will, “This is your life.” be playing on the projector? “His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord...For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:” - Matthew 25:23,29-31.

Today's Psalm: 9:8 - “And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
Today's Proverb: 28:5 - “Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. Today's Prayer: God, It never ceases to amaze me that with all I have done in my life You still love me and want to provide for me. I know I am not going to heaven for any good that I have done, but through my faith and trust in Your Son, who erased all the bad I have done when I applied His blood to my soul. When Jesus returns, I want to be able to hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Lead me and guide me and keep me serving You looking for that blessed hope of Your glorious Kingdom. In Jesus' name. Amen.
