Message Title: Have Faith In God
Hello My Friend,
A rich young man came to Jesus asking Him how to receive eternal life (how to get to heaven), Jesus, knowing that the man did follow the laws of Moses tells Him what was missing. “Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!” – Mark 10:21-24.
Perhaps one of the challenges of a Christian is to give up something that is dear to them. In fact, the majority of the time people will not follow Christ because of the things they do not want to give up. The truth is, following Christ does not have anything to do with removing things we enjoy, it’s about trusting Him that there are much better things out there for us than what we have. And the more we follow Him the more He will eliminate the things that really are not good for us, and He will replace them with some amazing and awing things. “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” – Hebrews 10:35,36.
God will often place circumstances in our lives in order to increase our faith in Him, Jesus is always with us, we just need to call out to Him, such as the case of a blind beggar who heard that Jesus was passing by. “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” – Mark 10:47-52.

Although Jesus was in His presence and very well knew what the man wanted He did not give Him what He wanted until he first cried out to Him, and secondly, Jesus wanted to see his faith. It is not enough to simply have faith in God we must act upon that faith and call on Him. “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:12,17.
The word faith is defined as having confidence or trust in a person or thing, it is also defined as having a strong or unshakeable belief in something, especially without proof or evidence. We must have faith in God, ignoring Him, pretending that He does not exist, or trying to eliminate Him from existence will never save you. Jesus confirms this when the disciples asked Him how a tree could have withered away and died at His command.
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” – Mark 11:22-26.
God will give us anything we desire if we have faith, which means to simply to believe inn Him.“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Romans 10:9-13. Praise God!
Today’s PrayerGod, It is amazing that we can simply come to You through Your Son and get to be a part of Your Kingdom. We do not have to work our way to heaven or pay our way to stay there, because Jesus paid the price for us, we just need to simply have faith in You. Lord, I offer myself to You as a living sacrifice, I am trusting in Your Son to help me endure every trial and every temptation as I follow Him. Even if I fail I know that You are always with me and will help me when I humble myself before You as Your child. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
