Have You Moved God?
Job 2:3
“And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.”
There is a statement in this verse that catches my attention every time I read it. God says in this verse about Satan, “...although thou movedst me...” What a statement! God said that Satan moved Him to do something He had not planned to do. Though Satan moved God to afflict Job, and though this affliction was intended by God to make Job a better person, to think that Satan was able to move God is simply astounding. Yet, not only is this statement astounding, it is also very convicting when you think of whom it was that moved God.
Christian, when is the last time you moved God to do something? I would hate to think that Satan moves God more than we do. Think of this, Satan is the enemy of God, and yet he still moved God to do something. We are the children of God, saved by His blood, and yet many Christians have never moved God to do anything.
There is a reason why Satan moved God, and that is because he actually appeared before Him. Christian, you will never move God to do anything if you don't spend time in prayer. Again, I would hate to think that Satan spends more time talking to God than we do as a Christian. If anyone ought to spend time with God, it ought to be the Christian. Yet, the sad fact is most Christians will go days without having a time to walk with God, and giving their petitions to Him for His intervention in some matter. You will never move God to do anything without having a time that you appear before God in prayer.
Furthermore, if you are going to move God to do something, then you better have a case prepared to present to Him. When Satan appeared before God to try and move Him, he presented his request as if he was a lawyer trying a case before a jury. If you want to move God, then you need to have your case prepared to present to God, and show Him why He should do what you want Him to do. Though there are times that God will answer our prayers without us presenting our case, you should present your prayer to God as lawyer would present his case to the court. If you want to move God to do something, then your prayer is worthy of you spending some time outlining how you will present your case to God in prayer.
Christian, is Satan's prayer life better than yours? This world needs Christians who will learn to move God through prayer. Don't let Satan have a better prayer life than you. Be the type of Christian that can move God to do something that He had not intended to do.
