Message Title: Full Potential
Date: Sunday May 06, 2012Today's Chapters: 1 Chronicles 23-24

Hello My Friend,

While any person that calls upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save them is saved that does not mean that every person saved agrees on how their lives should be lived with Jesus in it. Now, we all grow in our Christianity at different levels and that is perfectly fine, but some Christians only go so far and will never learn their nor God's full potential. To discover the full potential of God is being obedient to all of God's Word. “
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” - 2 Timothy 3:14-17.

God appointed the Levites as the tribe that would serve God in His ministry, from the priestly duties, to the setting up and taking down of the tabernacle, to even the carrying of the parts of the tabernacle, every family within that tribe played a part in serving God in His ministry. Now that the tabernacle would become a temple and have a permanent home what were these Levites to do. David addresses this, “
So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel. And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites. For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever: And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof. For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above: Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;” - 1 Chronicles 23:1,2,25-28.

What were their duties? To keep the temple clean, and all the apartments that were in it. From the courts to the chambers, they were to do the laundry, clean, sweep, and mop. No job is too small for God, He gives us all skills to be used to discover our full potential so, we can discover His. There is a place in the service of God for every Christian and God would have each of us do it wholeheartedly if we are going to work for Him. “
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” - Colossians 3:23,24.

After David appointed the duties of the Levites in the temple he appoints the duties of sons of Aaron, those who would be the priests and high priest. We get a little history lesson of the sons of Aaron down to the present, the sons of Aaron were to be separated from the rest of the tribes, including the other Levites.
Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar. These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him. These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.“ - 1 Chronicles 24:1,6,19,31.
The priests had special duties above all the Levites, they received the sacrifices offered to God for a person seeking atonement or just to give thanks to God. Before the priests took the sacrifices they had to go through a rigorous procedure to be cleansed of their sins and infirmities first. You see, the priests had the same sin nature as we do so, they often fell into sin and some fell away from God too. It's easy to fall away from God, even strong Christian's can fall, but thanks to God's mercy and grace He doesn't forsake us even if we fall. We might have to suffer a bit, but it's only so that we can show our full potential and God can show us His. That is whee Jesus comes in at. “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” - Hebrews 4:14-16.

If we want to see God's full potential we need to never be satisfied with just knowing enough of God's Word just to get us by. Of course, we cannot lose our salvation by not knowing all of God's Word, but we will never know our potential nor God's if we are content just to stay where we are. Jesus said,
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.” - Luke 6:21,25-27,35.
Today's Psalm: 18:30 - “As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Today's Proverb: 30:5 - “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Today's Prayer: God, I know in order for me to see Your full potential I have to show You mine. Lord, prepare my heart, open it and let it be willing to learn how to show my full potential from Your Word. As I allow the Holy Spirit to work in me keep me in Your Word and serving You wholeheartedly so I do not fall. I ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night. God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
