Things looked bleak for Mordecai. Haman had ordered a huge gallows to be built
on which to execute Mordecai in a public display of his power. It wouldn’t be
long before the extermination of the Jews would follow in Shushan.
Haman, the self-proclaimed royal favorite of the king, was
enjoying the accompanying limelight, when suddenly it all changed. The king
ordered Haman to parade Mordecai around the kingdom announcing his heroism. Oh,
the humiliation of it all. The entire kingdom
knew of his feelings regarding Mordecai.
Meanwhile Mordecai began his day expecting the same ol’
stress of dealing with Haman. The
inevitable confrontation would occur along with the disapproval of the other
leaders at the gate. As he settled in his spot at the gate, along came
Haman. Mordecai’s stomach churned a
bit. But Haman looked troubled instead
of arrogant today. Instead of the daily
challenge came a complete reversal. Haman’s
servants led the kings horse and royal apparel for Mordecai. Instead of a
confrontation, he received the highest honor from Haman!
Overnight God had reversed things. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Be sure to tune in to this devotional series

Then the king said to
Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and
do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing
fail of all that thou hast spoken. Then took Haman the apparel and the horse,
and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the
city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the
king delighteth to honour. And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But
Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered.” Esther
