(NPS) A city-wide phenomenon is
taking place. No matter where we go we see people wearing sackcloth and ashes.
Even the King is doing so. We have been searching for the man that started all
of this and we believe we have found him. We have witnessed this strange
looking Jewish man walking through town proclaiming that the end is near.
Normally, people like this are considered mentally unstable. However, this time
people are listening.
We decided to take an honest look
at our society and found that in Jehovah’s eyes we are wicked. This God of the
Hebrews has decided to destroy us for our sins. Because of this, a panic of
sorts has spread through Ninevah at an unprecedented pace.
As a representative of the NBS
(Ninevah Broadcasting Service) I must say that something must be done. Various
commentators have been expressing their views – all in agreement that attempts
to get God’s attention. Something must be done, but what?
The common reaction is show God
by wearing sackcloth (a coarse
material usually made of black goat’s hair, making it quite uncomfortable to
wear) and ashes (signifies worthlessness, desolation and ruin). These are signs
of mourning. It is now difficult to find anyone NOT showing signs of mourning
to one true God.
Now, imagine God moving through ISIS like this. Imagine God changing
the hearts of Americans like this. Oh that God would move in the hearts of
people before judgment comes! The end is near.
“So the people of Nineveh
believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of
them even to the least of them. For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he
arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with
sackcloth, and sat in ashes.” Jonah 3:5-6.
