7/3 Strength for Today

Beyond the Impossible

Genesis 18:11
“Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.”

All throughout the Scriptures God shows us His power by doing things that seem to be impossible with man. The story in the verse above is one of those instances. It says in the verse above that “...it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.” Sarah was an old lady at the time when the angels came to tell her that she was going to have a child. Not only was she old, but also medically speaking it was impossible for her to have a child. Though both Abraham and Sarah wanted a child, they were never able to have one. Now God told them that they were going to have a child, even after it seemed to be totally impossible. This is why Sarah laughed in the next verse, for she knew how impossible this would be. Yet, though it was impossible with man, science, and human reasoning, God gave them a child in their old age.

I point this out to you because there may be something in your life that seems to be totally impossible for you to acquire. Maybe you are like Sarah who always wanted a child, but medically it just has not worked out, and it seems impossible. Let me remind you that if God can give Sarah a child, then God can give you a child. Maybe your desire is not having a child, but it is something else that is beyond human reasoning for you to ever have. Whatever your situation or request is, let me say that there is a God in Heaven Who is capable to do that which is beyond the impossible.

I say this to you to encourage you to never give up. Yes, we all have that request or desire that we think is impossible, but we must remember that we serve a God of the impossible. Never, never, never give up on God! Keep on praying and asking God to answer your request. Don't stop serving God, for maybe God is simply testing you to see if you will continue to do right though it seems that He hasn't come through.

Whatever your need is today, pick it back up and keep on asking God for it. Though you may have asked God for many years to do something, keep on asking Him, for your answer may be right around the corner. Claim the story of Abraham and Sarah as a reminder to God that He came through for them and you want Him to come through for you. When it is completely impossible scientifically, humanly and reasonably, always remember that it is still possible with God. When it is beyond the impossible, it is always possible with God. Don't give up!
