We all have a life story with
high points and low times. Some have experienced pain and suffering and yet
find things to rejoice about. Some seem
to suffer more than others yet have a great spirit. Some have everything and
are nasty to be around. Once we discover a person's story, we understand why
they are like they are just a little bit.
Ever wonder the story behind
people you meet? That clerk at the
grocery store may have a college degree but is now trying to raise her kids
alone because of a deadbeat dad, maybe even while struggling with a chronic or
even terminal illness. That homeless guy
sleeping under a bridge may hold a doctorate in economics from Harvard. That
successful businessman may have trouble reading because he has a learning
disability.
That Christian man may have spent
time in prison, got saved there and is now a respectable leader in the
church. That wonderful Christian woman
may have been a runaway, addicted to drugs and is now a shining example of a
mom for others. Some Christians were
raised in Christian homes and stuck with the direction taught by their parents.
They don't have scars from living in sin, but still struggle with doubt.
We all have a past. We all have
current struggles, whether chronic illness, rough circumstances or something
unseen. We all have a life story of experiences and philosophies. We all should
share this similar life story - I once was lost in sin, but now am found, was
blind but now I see. Jesus saved me and put my feet upon the solid Rock!
The story of the prophet Iddo,
mentioned in this verse, is lost. Nobody
knows it. Many don't know our stories
either. Cemeteries are full of people
whose stories are lost. Some we will meet in heaven and learn their stories What's
your story?
"And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his
sayings, are written in the
story of the prophet Iddo." II
Chronicles 13:22 .
PS: I got saved 30+ years
ago. I love serving the Lord. I enjoy being married to my wife, preaching,
teaching, writing, ventriloquism, humor, dragonflies, the color blue, Yorkies, Canadian
bacon pizza, chocolate-chocolate chip cookies, cars, photography. I dislike
kohlrabi and cold winters. I have never
golfed. I have no desire to bungie jump.
